Animals, Music and the Arts

Contrary to popular belief amongst muslims, the Quran and the religion of Islam does not forbid havings dogs as pets, nor does the Quran forbid God's gift to humans of music and arts.

God's gift of Music

The Quran does not prohibit music. God tells us in the Quran that we have been blessed with many benefits and that are first priority is to maintain righteousness in anything we do. Making music, whether by playing a musical instrument, or lifting our voices in praise to God to commemorate our Lord is one of many ways to express our love and devotion to our Creator. more >>

The Arts

The Quran does not tell us how to decorate our places of worship. God tells us in Quran that we are to devote our worship to God alone. If two or more believers are gathered in someone's home to pray, there is no logical reason to remove the wall decorations in order to pray, unless these decorations are distracting and interfere with worship. more >>

Dogs as Pets

The Quran is very clear from verse 5:4 and verses 18:8-24; that absolutely we can have dogs (and cats) as pets. Verses 18:8-24 has the story of believers who worshipped God alone and their dog slept with them. All dogs go to heaven and certainly God has made them man's best friend. more >>

Trained Dogs and Falcons

They consult you concerning what is lawful for them; say, “Lawful for you are all good things, including what trained dogs and falcons catch for you.” You train them according to God’s teachings. You may eat what they catch for you, and mention God’s name thereupon. You shall observe God. God is most efficient in reckoning. [5:4] more >>

[16:68] And your Lord inspired the bee: build homes in mountains and trees, and in (the hives) they build for you. more >>

Quran - Fully Detailed Scripture

The Quran is a fully detailed scripture for religious law. All religious laws are given in the Quran. All religious duties were given to Prophet Abraham with the Quran correcting corrupted religious practices. more >>

Hadith - Quran is the only acceptable Hadith

"These are God's revelations that we recite to you truthfully. In which hadith other than God and His revelations do they believe?" 45:6 more >>

Sunnah (system)-God's system in the Quran is the only acceptable Sunnah

The Quran, which fully details religious law provides the complete system of God. The Arabic word sunnah translates as system. There is no reference in the Quran to Muhammad's system The only system referred to is God's system. more >>

Severe retribution for those who fabricate prohibitions

You shall not utter lies with your own tongues stating: "This is lawful, and this is unlawful," to fabricate lies and attribute them to GOD. Surely, those who fabricate lies and attribute them to GOD will never succeed. 16:116 more >>
